MLB should raise Strike Zone

Major League Baseball has made a proposal to the players’ union to raise the bottom of the strike zone by 2 inches. The strike out record for a single season has been broken in 9 consecutive seasons and the majority of these strike outs have occurred at the bottom of the strike zone..In 2011, 24 percent of taken strikes occurred at the bottom of the strike zone. Over the past few seasons, 24 has increased to 50 percent.

The low strike zone has caused umpires to call strikes even lower than the standard strike zone. Players have to make poor, aggressive swings, declining their batting averages and damaging their confidence. I think this step would be very beneficial to the game. There would be more fair battles between pitcher and hitters in the league. Batting averages would increase, as well as on base percentages. Baseball would change but only for the good.
